Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. Since the mid 80s Angela Evelyn has appeared on film and television. The actress has won numerous awards including 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett originates from New York New York. Her home was Winston-Salem North Carolina. When Bassett was around five She and her sister were moved from the city of St. Petersburg, Florida where they lived with their mother who was separated from their father. Bassett chose to become an actress after seeing the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree in African American studies in 1980.
